With infectious enthusiasm and long experience as teachers and workshop leaders, we have a proven track record, delivering high quality projects tailored for different age groups. We have worked in the UK with children and young people at The Newbury Spring Festival, The Three Choirs Festival, the National Centre for Early Music and The Brighton Early Music Festival as well as numerous schools, and overseas for The British Council.Clang, Bang, Toot, Hoot (0-5 years). Songs, dances, and musical stories from the British Isles and beyond. Lots of instruments and lots of joining in.
What a Racket! (primary) – exploring the raw materials of music (tempo, pitch and dynamics) and an astonishing number of renaissance and modern instruments.
Strictly Carnival! (primary) – dance music from the renaissance to the hand jive – for people who can’t sit still!
Tudor Music (primary) – sing, play and dance music from the 16th century
Skiffle and Rock ‘n Roll (primary and secondary) – youth culture from the 1950s and 1960s
Top hits of the 17th century (secondary and adult) – ballads, popular dance music, culture and politics.

When the Stamp Made its Mark
In 2011 The Carnival Band joined forces with Wyre Forest Young Voices, conductor Geoff Weaver, writer David Calcutt, actors Emily Chennery and Kieran Knowles, and sound artist Pete Nas directed by Peter Wild to perform a sequence of words and music exploring the impact of the revolutionary penny post on Victorian Britain.
